Trivia

Albany is a Hamlet located on Love Island in the state of Seven. Albany is one of the earliest settlements in Seven founded in 1905 by Americans originating from upstate New York in the Albany area. Two years after employees from the McKinley administration came to settle Kinley, a similar situation occurred to settle Albany. Acting Governor at the time, Frank W. Higgins heard of the new nation of Lovia and decided that New York should too help settle the nation. A new settlement was sent to be made named after the State capital in 1905, and was finished being built in 1908. Population rose as Albany became a scenic Hamlet but also dealt with some minor trading in between the islands and to Mexico from time to time.

History[]

In the 1950s the Hamlet suffered flooding in the west side of the town due to vicious storms. The floods destroyed some of the Albany Docks, and five homes. The homes were rebuilt soon after and the Dock finished by 1953. In the recently failed Novosevensk independence movement, 2012 Albany tried joining by pledging support if a new government came about. Since nothing came of the movement Albany town leaders said they won't threaten to seceded anymore.

Demographics[]

In 1910 the Hamlet had about 230 people present, mostly near the docks. In 1930 the Hamlet reached 275 people and about 80% being American. Since then many have moved from Albany, and other immigrants have moved to the Hamlet. The most recent census in 2012 stated 316 people live in Albany, about 50% being American, 24% Russian, and 15% German.
