The Unity flag, used by the republicans
The Battle of Burke's Town was a skirmish that occurred on 6 June 1892 in Burke's Town (modern day Sofasi). The battle pitted 31 republican men from west Sofasi and 28 pro-Lovian men. It resulted in a republican victory and the formation of the independent Northern Territory.
The battle is an important part of the state's lore, and is commemorated with re-enactments on its anniversary. The flag used by the republicans entered into legend, and the Unity Flag serves as the inspiration behind the Flag of Clymene.
