A Tour of Pool
Situated on Discovery Isle, Pool is famed for its history as a key trade port. It lies between two streams, the Saven to the north and the Fey to the south. In recent years, the population has grown heavily and it has become a village. Home to the Pudlian Party, the economy is one of the richest in Lovia and is based around five local corporations. These five corporations tend to employ locals, a system also used in Shepby. Lovia's most read newspaper, the Lovian Times is owned by Poolmedia, arguably the largest of these five corporations.
We were welcomed at Poolmedia by Christopher Samson, the Lovian Times' famed reporter. He showed us around the headquarters, where planning for polling was underway. Little occured, however I can hint that…

Welcome to Meet the Royals, the blog about all wikination royalty. This is a chance to peer into the elegant world (and wardrobe) of our wikinations' blue-bloods.
The Half Brunanter Blog
Note: this is an entirely in-character blog, one of those foreigner-in-Europe sort of things. For now it's just a trial run to see if it can work, and of course if there's readership. Don't want to do it on a real blog site if in case someone reads and thinks it's real.
ABOUT ANDREW PAGE
Andrew Page was born, grew up in Little Plains (a Lovian town in the lovely state of Clymene), studied there, became a writer in the state and soon decided his first trip outside of Clymene would be to Europe. Fate intervened and now I am in Brunant since 2013, writing for the free newspaper Today in the big city, Koningstad. For some time I've had a locally-sourced girlfriend, Silvia (and of course her overly involved Brunanter mother).
Lovians, what do you think of your new King so far?
I've been King for three weeks now, little less then a month. Time flies when you're having fun, doesn't it? It's pretty much everything I ever hoped it to be, and I'm having a blast. Now I do want to be a King for all Lovians, and an accessible one at that. So after these past few weeks, some speeches and edits, I wonder. What do you guys think of my tenure so far?
Any advice, anything you'd like to see different, or changed? A subject you're particularly passionate about that you believe deserves some royal attention? By all means, do tell.
I live to serve, so serve I shall do. But I'm not alone in this nation. So, let me hear it!
God bless Lovia, and all her sons and daughters!
Yours truly,
- King Sebastian I of Lovia (talk) 20:51, September…

We are all very opinionated people here on Wikination, so I'm sure that as soon as you read this episode's title you instantly braced yourself for a surefire political debate. You're already going on the defensive, setting up the fortifications, rallying your armies, establishing base-camps strategically to gain some territorial foothold, raising your rifles and versing a witty reply to whatever that controversial bastard Pikapi is inevitably going to say, right?!?
I'm raising the white flag. Don't start firing just yet.

Another New York Update
From what i'm hearing Pikapi is from New York City, I am from Yonkers though (search it up on wikipedia, I edit pages for yonkers there) Yonkers is the northern adjacent city to NYC in the Northern adjacent county of Westchester. Here in Yonkers (as a high school student) have had monday - thursday off of school (friday pending) and many many issues. Now NYC is a much larger city population and size wise but yonkers is also very damaged. Personally my father's company (near a river) was flooded and had to clean up over there for two straight days as work was halted, my sister a college student couldn't go to university either. We've had a few deaths in the city (yonkers being the fourth largest city by population in New York state) and in …
How It's Going on the East Coast
For those of you who like to keep informed on current events (not just those political) in the United States, you may have heard of a certain "Hurricane Sandy". A native New Yorker myself, I can tell you that it was, indeed, a force to be reckoned with. Yachts sailed sluggishly up the major roads, taking the places of cars that had, in their place, been swallowed up by the ocean. There were some unfortunate deaths, and the grief caused by this massive storm hit close to home when I learned that my best friend's basement and some of his most prized material possessions were destroyed. Yes, this is Matt that I am talking about. Thankfully, him, his family and his pets escaped the damage caused by this storm unscathed. God bless them all, and…

Political Assessment: How Liberals Argue
Hey everyone! I'm back, with something fun, new and interactive that I'd like to test out. If it excites everyone here enough, I might continue if just to sate my appetite to troll.
I was searching Youtube the other day, and I found this animated political cartoon by the Youtube user Y2KCIA. I honestly don't remember how I came across this video, but I found that I could relate to the point it was trying to get across. I'm not saying that I feel as extremely and harshly about liberalism as our animated friend in the video, but the points that I do agree with are:
- 1)
that liberal arguments are often flawed and heavily biased (which is ironic in itself, I think).
- 2)
its clear that the creator of this video is pretty fixed on conservative ideals, …
Engaging the Community
Recently, I've been trying to stay out of the public eye. Before today, I sure many of you were wondering were an attention whore such as myself could have disappeared to. Maybe it was that I've been preoccupied making further expansions to my corporate empire. Perhaps I was too busy filling legal paperwork, or worse, I was unpacking when found a library book from my first grade summer-reading list with an accumulated expense that not even I could pay off, and after weighing my options, I decided to covertly flee the nation.
But no. Luckily, that wasn't the case (I could have sworn I had returned that book decades ago). To be honest, I had many reasons to seclude myself. Not only do I have the grueling responsibility of devising a game plan…
Lovia and natural disasters
I was roaming the site, when I came to a footer section at the bottom of TimeMaster's profile, "pages to create". There was only one entry, but from what I can see, Time, you're a few years behind on that one.
- Hurricane Elida - In 2002, the remnants of Hurricane Elida, having just lost tropical depression status, passed just east of Lovia and caused major flooding. One indirect death was caused by Elida, thought several thousand dollars of repair were spent to fix roads and bridges damaged.
That isn't all I wanted to bring to light, however. The point to this post is how Hurricane Elida would have at least been a start to documenting the constant natural disasters that plague the pacific, Californian coast (I was going to write a lot more abo…
Strike against SOPA
On Jan 24th, Congress will vote to pass internet censorship in the Senate, even though the vast majority of Americans are opposed. We need to kill the bill - PIPA in the Senate and SOPA in the House - to protect our rights to free speech, privacy, and prosperity. We need internet companies to follow Reddit's lead and stand up for the web, as we internet users are doing every day.
If such bills are passed, the world wide web, as it appears in the United States, will go from medium censorship to heavy internet censorship, or as it is referred to on the map on the right, an "internet black hole". Taken that this bill is passed, we'll be as isolated from the rest of the world as China and North Korea. One of the major disadvantages this would i…

Is it okay if I give Lee Feng some seats of mine? I'm planning to do so but I was afraid people would despise me. This is to promote fairness in Congress.

Zen Stuff
Ah, Zen Buddhism. I've always been a fan of meditation and that kind of stuff. You know I tried out to be a monk, once. I was kicked out of the group in a matter of hours. Broke just about every rule in the book in those few hours. And despite my love of their practices, you know, I'd do it it all again... I'd throw another party in that sanctuary if I had the chance.
Brunant beats Lovia in activity?!
The truth is, Lovia is getting pwned by Brunant's activity. Yikes!
Travel
I'm going to Aachen (Germany) on December 26th. Our Aachen trip is only one day cause we have some of my mom's relatives coming to visit from Gent. I was wondering is anyone else going to travel for the holidays?
I'm Back!
Hey everyone. I'm just posting to let you all know that Christopher Costello is back in business. I am sorry about my temporary absence. I cannot attribute the cause of my absence with certainty, by determining wether it was the constant bombardment of school projects I've been assigned or my failure in the Second Chamber, last month, but either way, I'm finally here to stay.
You know what that means! More articles, and more awesomeness. I'm sure you guys know what kind of things to expect from me.
Positive Lovia. I'm asking you to be optimistic, here. What I'm proposing is a brand-new conservative political party that also incorporates liberal elements... a fusion known only as liberal conservatism.
The only blog I probably will ever post
I hate blogs, to tell the truth. It's the way of the WikiMen. Commenting has been disabled because I hate blogs and they're crap when it's not used and others are using it. -- 03:24, November 29, 2011 (UTC)
Wanna hear you
SO what is your IDEAL! LOVIA! I wanna know. No stupidity all realness. I'm talking mainly political like here's some major reform I would think.
- No states all cities with like devolution to city conucils and people working creativly on cities and mayors.
So tell me what you think. Thanks =]
Sorry i was inactive...i was thinking...
Why is this wikia inactive? Why? I think it's the one person = one set of people. Wheather you look at it as that or not that's your opinion it's mine and i believe in a sense that's it! We could start a new project which would make more sense like a old British country (Copy-cat of Britian) with a parliament...House of Commons...House of Lords so that instead of one person = one set of people it would broden horizions and allow more exicting opportunites.
I'll like any questions in the comment boxes to clarify anything or if anyone wants to start this or have any other ideas.
Our future: A better Lovia
So with all the feed back we should propose like a State reform 2010, major changes to the constituion and maybe have a State Reform 2011 (To our newer users: This was a set a bills passed with small changes and major changes to the fed law and constitution)
Ideas you posted that were the best and should be put into effect:
- Creation of a 100 member congress
Pros: Makes us look larger, more "fun" let's us dive more into politics
Cons: Harder to vote, with one fundred members, would have to have a new election system
- Making our population large
Pros: No cons just awesome!!!
- Making Noble City a federal district and adding a small hamlet on the very northeast coast in Sylvania
Pros: I kinda like this idea, Noble City in my opinion should be a state so…
Ideas about politics
I always thought the purpose of this wikia is mainly politics, Dimi founded it as a "economic-political" model but a little more economically orientated. But i know i'm a Social, economically progressive, but i don't really find that fun, it cool to see things from another view somtimes.
Here some ideas from other wikias:
From Harvian Wiki: You control one main IC he does normal things, let's say he's elected to congress with 16%, he gets 16% of the seats, in which they can be just like him or different, it allows us to expand our thoughts and gives smaller parties chances to be "in" congress. You'd also control there votes and eveything which might seem like fun.
If you have an idea post it below.
Too early for my memoirs (7)
The current elections have been quite intense already, and they will continue to be for about two more weeks. This could be, or not, the first election of a Prime Minister who's first name is not Frances, Jude or Yuri. So, to give you all something to think about at night when you're checking the polls, I'd like to describe what will happen between January 26th and February 1st. I will not be the key figure in the process, but having written the law (ahem) and having participated in both 2008 and 2010, I am the right person to introduce you all to this interesting topic.
So, what does the Constitution say about this?
- The candidate who received votes worth the most points, will become Member of the Congress and Prime Minister. In the case of a…
Too early for my memoirs (6)
User:DimiTalen goes a long way. I started as a Wikipedia contributor and ended up creating portals on the Dutch-language Wikipedia. Then, my geofiction career began. I think, my career has been leading many of us through the wiki experience. This is why.
A short overview of what happened:
- On Wikipedia, User:SPQRobin started the "Wikistad" proposal. The idea was to create a small town using a wikitable with different colors. Wikipedia users could buy a house and share some community activities. If there was a pub on the map, it would link to the forum. If there was a community house, it would link to the community portal. I call this model the simple community model.
- My idea was to extend this model into a larger, more fictional model. There would b…
Add governorship info to your infobox!
I created the opportunity to add information about your (Deputy) Governorship to the inhabitant infobox. Governors and Deputy Governors can now fill in their state, term, election, election outcome, predecessor, successor and Deputy/Governor! Try it out . For examples, see Martha Van Ghent and Andy McCandless.
User page header
Today I made a user page header to put on my user page, my talk page, my archives and my project pages. For people with the "new" Wikia skin, it's not a major addition, since there already a sort of tabs. For those who use the Wikipedia skin, however, this might prove handy.
I invite you all to create similar bars, indices and headers!
Too early for my memoirs (5)
Since October 2009, I've been subscribed to TIME Magazine. When it comes to statistics and figures, I'm pretty much a maniac. So, I compiled some statistics for the topics covered by TIME in the last year.
For those familiar with the magazine, there's a two-page section called "The World - 10 Essential Stories" somewhere around page 10 in each edition. In it, TIME puts ten news stories on the world map. It's often news about a decision made in Washington or Brussels, about progress in one of the wars in the Middle East, newly released statistics, etc. The ten news flashes are not representative for what happens in the world. They might, however, be interesting to get to know which regions TIME really focuses on.
After almost one year (49 issues, that…
Too early for my memoirs (4)
My favorite excerpt from Aida D. Donald's biography of Theodore Roosevelt Lion in the White House (2007):
What does It take you to get out of bed in the morining?
For me it's my pre-set alarm clock, to wake me up at 6:00 Am to the Elvis Duran Show. If that doesn't do it I fall back asleep. I was late for school yesterday, 'cuse my alarm wasn't load enough. Any way How do you wake up? Leave comments and other waking up stories thanks.
Pietro's
I today rebranded Pierlot Pizza into Pietro's. Pietro's wants to give you the "authentic pizza experience": top-quality pizzas made from the finest ingredients, using the classic Italian recipes for classic Italian pizzas. You can find Pietro's in nearly all places.

I'm freaked out. I just pressed the random page link 3 times and the following page appeared

Too early for my memoirs (3)
I am quite interested in collecting quotations. Over the years, I have collected a small number of relevant quotes on my Facebook profile page. In a way, they represent my perception of life, reality, literature... There is some Jefferson, Hemingway, lots of Camus and Sartre, some Thoreau and Emerson (I think Andy and Martha will enjoy)... Like I said, it's not much. Read them, skim through them and I'm sure you'll recognize a good deal of them.
- "If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a m…
Current events: what can the Left do, and what not?
Power of the Left?
Thanks to Yuri Medvedev's efforts, the political Left is becoming a powerful and strong current. He wrote an interesting article on it too: Leftism in Lovia.
Now I was wondering, what do you fellows think the Left can do?
I mean: what reforms will they be able to push through in Lovia? How far can they go, if they want to, and what's unfeasible, even for them?
Do you think the Leftists will be able to push through huge nationalizations of core industries such as the railways or electricity? What about Medvedev's plan to create fishing quota: would the CPL.nm need the support of non-leftist politicians to get these kind of things through?
Liberals
Something else: should the Liberal Democrats, the biggest faction in Congress and m…
Advertize on Worldtree?
Worldtree introduced small in-site advertisements, just beneath the cartoon section. In a short time, a series of mini-ads is repeated. If you want to advertize on Lovia's fastest growing social networking site, just contact me. Do keep in mind there's not terribly much space for long texts or big pictures.
An example:
The idea is not mine, actually. I was inspired by Jon Johnson's LTV ad, which is based on the same principle.
Worldtree launched!
I today launched the beta version of Worldtree, Lovia's first social networking site. I hope to include more blog posts in the near future. Perhaps, in a later stadium, we could introduce more options, such as tweets. Please join and blog!
Check out the website !
New skin
I finally changed to the "new" Monaco skin! I was still using the Wikipedia skin. I also changed from Dutch to English just now.
Too early for my memoirs (2)
In real life, I am quite obsessed with lists, statistics and graphs. Though I have clearly chosen the path of linguistics and literature, I cannot hide my passion for the visualized facts in life. My iTunes library probably exemplifies this quite well. I made unwritten rules that apply to every song of my 5,647 tracks, and I try to maintain them properly. One of my most recent actions concerns the years in which the songs were released. Originally, I didn't mind these years. Now however, I try to give my most played songs information about their year of birth. And it does render some interesting statistics. Using a little program, called SuperAnalyzer, I can track the decennia I played most. The statistics are not perfectly in order yet (som…
Monticello Blog: J.D. Salinger
J. D. Salinger died January 27th, at the age of 91. The American author was best known for his 1951 novel The Catcher in the Rye, as well as his reclusive nature. This is a tribute to the man.
- Mr. Salinger's "The Catcher in the Rye" caused a sensation when it was published. With its very first sentence, the book, which came out in 1951, introduced a brand-new voice in American writing, and it quickly became a cult book, a rite of passage for the brainy and disaffected. "Nine Stories," published in 1953, made Mr. Salinger a darling of the critics as well, for the way it dismantled the traditional architecture of the short story and replaced it with one in which a story could turn on a tiny shift of mood or tone. -- The New York Times
