Cristian Latin (June 2 1972, Hurbanova) is an Oceana-Romanian politician of the Conservative Christian Party of Lovia. He became a prominent member when he announced his candidacy for the Federal Elections, 2011, after the murder of his famous brother Alexandru Latin. Cristian is regarded to be more pragmatic, moderate and decent than Alexandru. Another striking fact is that unlike his brother, Cristian is a convinced monarchist.
He is the current Federal Police commissioner and infamous for being involved in the Galahad v. The Brigade Trial in February and March of 2011.
Politics[]
Cristian Latin is known to have a tight band with party leader Oos Wes Ilava. They often agree on many subjects, like on a limited free market economy, the support of the monarchy, a perfectly well protected environment and an exceptional education system. However he has rather more moderate views compared to Ilava when it is about ethics. Cristian Latin suggests that the Christian ideals of love, tolerance and peace must be maintained. Lovian society must be an altruistic one, in which respect for one's fellow man or woman is a priority. That is the reason why Cristian hopes for a more tolerant vision of CCPL on women and homosexuals. He is currently also second-in-command of the Brigade.[1]
When Cristian eventually failed to be elected to 2011 Congress, he decided to retreat from party politics. He founded the Saint Peter's Monastery in an isolated part of the Oceana Emerald Highlands together with a group of religious Hurbanovan students. Cristian is currently living there as a monk, in order to find stability in his hectic life which he has had since the murder of his brother Alexandru Latin and the death of his mother in the same month.
Cristian remained an official member of the CCPL though.
