Deluded Rock above the Grandforest Hills
Deluded Rock is a rock formation in the northern region of Kings, in the southern parts of the Grandforest Hills. With its 587 meters it is the second highest peak in its area. It is part of Abby Highlands National Park. The rock is special due to the fact that the wind gets turned on its flank, causing an upward drift on the southeastern side of the rock. It was fairly unknown until the eccentric Sir Garth Pancake started a mining expedition to the rock in 1892. He hoped to find gold but nowhere in Kings are there precious metals and Sir Pancake thus was 'deluded', by which the peak got its name.
