Elisabeth Toutel (born November 22, 1959) is a Lovian politician and physician. Originally an independent who was at one time an important figure in Sofasian government, she joined the Liberal Democratic Party shortly after its formation in 2011, and migrated with it during its merger into the Social Liberal Party in 2012. She was a member of the 2011 Second Congress, 2012 Congress, and 2015 Congress. Along with party leader William Krosby, she migrated to the Communist Party of Lovia (neo-marxist) in 2015.
Life[]
Elisabeth Toutel was born in Sofasi, and attended Rider Primary School. She skipped the fourth grade. After graduating from her high school in 1976, she attended a pre-medical selection of courses at the University of California at Berkeley in the United States. After completing her courses in 1980, Toutel went to the medical school at the nearby University of California at San Francisco, receiving a medical doctorate in 1984. She then returned to Lovia to practice medicine at the Sofasi Medical Center and Seven Medical Center. Toutel eventually became interested in politics, becoming an influential independent figure in Sofasian politics, though never mayor. Eventually, she joined the Liberal Democratic Party. She ran in the 2011 Special Federal Elections, was elected, and remained as a Social Liberal Party backbencher in the 2011 Second Congress and 2012 Congress. However, Toutel was narrowly defeated in the 2013 Federal Elections, coming just short of the vote threshold to be re-elected. However, she was elected again for the SLP in the 2015 Federal Elections, but after the party's dissolution, joined party leader William Krosby in migrating to the SLP. She identifies as a moderate democratic socialist.
