
Ermania Kovalic
Ermania Kovalič was a Lovian woman of Croatian ancestry. Born in 1873 in Split, Croatia, her family came to Lovia in 1884. In 1893, she married English shipbuilder William Hunt. Hunt died while fighting in South Africa in 1899.
Later life[]
In 1913, she founded a movement for Oceana's autonomy and recognition, That Oshenna Lew Taste (The Oceana Lion Organization). They became a strong political force in the 1910s, but less in the 1930s. She was the first Oceana nationalist to enter politics and to maintain a Oceana-First Policy In 1934, she married Ellis Rudyear (owner of Rudyear Rum) and moved to west Oceana. They had 1 daughter, Marija Rudyear. She took over Rudyear Rum in 1951 until her death in 1960.
