Francis Carter Lewis, Jr. (October 20, 1843 - November 11, 1947) was a Canadian-Lovian newspaperman and businessman.

He was born in Old Kinley, Lovia as the son of Francis Lewis Sr. and Martha Cotton. He was the co-owner and editor of the newspaper The Weekly Kinley from 1874 to 1900. From 1899 to 1909, he was a professor at Noble University.

He was a member of the Lewis Family.

Sex scandal[]

In December 1908 a scandal broke out after a student of Lewis claimed that he had raped her. Lewis denied this, but in February 1909 he was dismissed. In the spring of 1909, another student of Lewis said that she had also been raped. This time the accused was Prof. James Stanton, who also denied the claim. Nevertheless, in April 1908 Stanton was also expelled.

However, when the two students graduated from the university in 1910, Lewis was able to return to his job. In 1915, the two women confessed that they had lied, and Stanton returned in 1917.

Death[]

After enjoying a very long period of retirement, Lewis died in 1947, some weeks after his 104th birthday. His 100th birthday renewed interest in Lewis, and a lot of old students came to visit their old professor. King Joseph had been one of Lewis' students.

Lewis was one of the oldest persons in the Lovian history. In 1947 he was the oldest person in Lovia, but that record has since been broken by Henry Istvan who died in 2006 when he was 112 years old. There is a statue of Lewis in the Canterbury Park in Canterbury.
