John Harrison Flint, more usually known as Harrison Flint, was a Lovian politician, the founder of Kinley, and the first Governor of Seven.
Life[]
Flint was born into a wealthy family in Newark, Ohio. After unsuccessfully running for several political offices, despite his talent at public speaking, he decided to use his inherited wealth to back his close friend William McKinley's run for the presidency.
After McKinley was assassinated, Flint reportedly declared, "There's nothing left for me to do in this damn country." Since childhood, he had had a desire to create a new state, and decided to emigrate to the newly discovered Lovia to attempt to do so. He found several former employees of the president and after paying them each a fairly large sum, they set off together for Lovia. Upon arrival, Flint met with King Arthur II and asked permission to found a new settlement. The King granted his request and after consideration of the best place, Flint eventually chose American Island in Seven.
As the leader of the group, Flint was the natural choice for governor, especially considering the fact that almost no Novosevenskians voted. He did very little campaigning, as he was the only candidate. Policies were fairly isolationist and he did not attempt to exert authority over the inhabitants on the other islands. After three terms had passed, he retired to make way for his son Oliver Flint to stand.
