Intercity is a neighborhood of the city of Sofasi founded in 1970 as an influx of Chinese, Bredish, and English citizens came to live in a most urban area of the settlement. Intercity is known for being the "mingling" section of Sofasi because so many different cultures come together and tourists and citizens can experience different food and traditions. Intercity was known for its high crime rate in the 1980s, but has since decreased back down.
History[]
The neighborhood was created a small number of Chinese immigrants and Bredish immigrants from the northern settlements to come to a more urban settlement. From 1975-1985, 900 Chinese immigrants and 500 Bredish immigrants moved to Intercity and created many shops, restaurants, and an entertainment district for other Sofasians to come to. With new people moving to Intercity a crime problem arose as some Chinese immigrants were from mob families, but by 1990 the crime problem was solved by the Federal Government as a big drug cartel was taken down. Today the neighborhood is known as a safe urban environment were English, Chinese, and Bredish cultures blend. It's known for being on the cutting edge of Lovian fashion and dealing with some minor commerce and trade.
According to the latest census about 40% of the 2,212 people that live in Intercity are Chinese, 38% Bredish, 15% English, 7% Lovian/other.
The Federal Government's green energy plans have started here with about 30% of the neighborhood's energy needs coming from wind, solar, or hydro.
From about 1995 on, the city has became a financial hub for commerce, trade, and banks in Sofasi. In 2013 the Clymene State Council was built there giving the neighborhood further importance.
