The service also subsidies dental care and optical care for Lovian citizens resident in Kings. Since June 2014, the KHS has operated an ambulance service serving the state.
History[]
After similar systems were established in Oceana and Sylvania in late 2013, the establishment of a healthcare system in Kings became an election promise of Marcel Cebara, who was elected Governor of the state in the State Elections, 2013.
The Healthcare Act was proposed in the Kings State Council on November 22, 2013 by Kings State Secretary for Health, Rachel Villiers. After several weeks of debate in the chamber, the bill was passed with 14 votes for and zero against.
After the passage of the bill, the Kings Healthcare Service was established, with the operations of the state's hospitals and clinics being passed over to the service effective January 1, 2014.
Management[]
The Kings Healthcare Service is managed and operated by the Kings Healthcare Board, a ten member council which is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the healthcare service, as well as for opening new hospitals and clinics, and employing staff. The Kings State Secretary for Health is an automatic member of the board.
