
The beach at Love Island
Love Island is one of the islands of the Central Nation Archipelago and one of the the state of Seven. It currently has a population of 690 people, and an area of 149.5 km².
There is one hamlet on the island, Albany.
Etymology[]
The origin of the name is not known, but several linguists have theorised that it is derived from 'Lovia'.
In fiction[]
The island is the setting for a surreal alternate history autobiography, the Diary of Matthew Thompson, in which the exploration of Love Island was begun on June 2, 2008 by a man called Matthew Thompson who fell overboard a vessel and washed ashore on the beach of a secluded cove, remaining there for over a year, and making contact with Lovia through a device named the Inculator.
