Michal Hrbiť (Slovakia, 1868 - Hurbanova, 1939) was a former Governor of Oceana. Born in Hurbanova, Lovia to Josef Hrbiť and Marcella Radov, he went to school and dropped out at the age of 17. He was the director of Hurbanovan Mining from 1924 to 1934 and the twelfth governor of Oceana. He was murdered during his term by Steven Lew, a local miner who did not agree with the bad policies Michal had in the mines. From June 22, 1939, to January 1, 1940, there was no governor of Oceana. After that time Michal Opať, former governor, decided Tim Ealdeast should be a temporary governor.
