Nicomedia V: Percival 2230-2302 is a Lovian alternative history fiction novel by Percival E. Galahad. It narrates the history of the Empire of Nicomedia from 2230 to 2302. Percival is the fifth novel of the Nicomedia series and was published in 2008.

Story[]

The fifth novel starts with the reign of Ioannes of Troy, the last of the Trojans. In the two years before 2232, the Nicomedian Empire is losing influence and control over dissenting regions. On the very day the Kurds proclaim their independence, Percival Troyes-Aglovale overthrows the Trojan emperor. By strong military action he brings back order, law and discipline to the nation. Hated by the upper-class politicians, he manages to get the support of the working classes. Percival the Elder reigns until 2259 as a loved emperor. His eldest son, Percival II, ascends to the throne. He is regarded as a young hipster without any political knowledge. In the 2260s, his policies are dominated by his advisors, who belong to the Nicomedian upper class. When 6 million Nicomedians protest at the emperor's palace, he finally does away with his advisors. All of them are brought to trial for the brutal murder of 6,000 Kurds in 2263. Emperor Percival II restores the policies of his father. Also, the secularization Percival the Elder had started, is continued. In 2298, Percival's son Percival III is crowned. Only two years after, he is deposed and murdered by republicans of the Supreme Union of Republicans (SUR).
