Church, street view from Eastern Cesta
The Orthodox Church Saint Andrew (also known as Biserica Ortodoxă Sfântul Andrei) is a Lovian Eastern Christian Church in Drake Town, Hurbanova. The church was built on November 15, 2009 and financed and realized by the local Romanian minority. The church's priest Ioan Barba does the masses on Sundays and special religious days.
Especially Romanians from the State Oceana, but also religious Ukrainians and Bosnians frequently go to this church. During important religious days, like Easter and Christmas, the church doesn't have enough space for all the people, as many religious Lovians find it important to go to church during these days. Even Eastern Orthodox Christians from Kinley and Sofasi can be found here on such special days.
Saint Andrew is open to visitors, as long as masses and ceremonies are respected. People can get married here or baptized on appointment, by Ioan Barba.
Alexandru Latin was burried here on Sunday 5 December 2010.
The church is known to have fargoing communication with the orthodox Saint Peter's Monastery in the Oceana Highlands.
