The Queen in 1941.
Elisabeth Van Draak (1889-1973), better known as Queen Elisabeth of Brunant, was the consort of King Johan II.
Early life[]
Elisabeth Carson-Braganza was born in Noble City, Lovia, to Princess Maria, daughter of D. Pedro II of Brazil and William Carson, an Irish explorer and adventurer. Carson had come to Brazil in the 1880s, met the King and family and quickly seduced his youngest daughter. With the coup in 1889 that deposed the emperor, William and Maria were quickly (and secretly) married and soon left the country, first to Mexico and then through San Francisco to Lovia.
They soon moved to Hurbanova, where her father worked in the mines. In 1907, Johan I, while still a prince, came to Lovia to establish relations. In Hurbanova, he met a young Elisabeth and fell in love with her. He brought her back to Brunant with him, and officially became Princess Elisabeth.
As Queen[]
Upon the death of King Pieter II (Johan's father) in 1913, her husband became the King and she the Queen. She strived to establish firmer relationships with Lovia, and often came back to her home on State Visits. She would eventually return 16 times. She is the only Lovian to have ever become Queen (or King) of a foreign country. During the German Invasion of Brunant in 1941 the Royal Family went into exile in Lovia.
Her husband died in 1967, and was succeded by her son, Marten II. She would eventually die in 1973.
