Reboot's logo.
Reboot is a Lovian social and political movement that strives to change Lovian society radically, abolishing all previous forms of hierarchy and status quo, redesigning the way the economy works, and establishing a society that is in full harmony with nature. The movement began in February of 2013 and was founded by Elk Punarbhava. Punarbhava has announced that, while not in Congress yet, he will take up gay equality and same-sex marriage as the first issue to tackle. Reboot is planning on participating in the next elections, in the hope of achieving real change through legislative action.
Reboot, as a political party, refuses to be labelled conventionally altogether, and in fact the party leadership has stated they "refuse to be fit into the crooked and arbitrary limits of the political spectrum." Nevertheless, the party is clearly aligned with goals that are traditionally aspired by socially progressive parties, including equality and environmental justice.
Program[]
Some of the changes promoted by Reboot are:
- Invest heavily in an extensive railway/rapid transit network, that connects all major areas of population, and that can replace the existing highway network.
- Abolish highways and private cars. Community vehicles and public service vehicles should be electric or fuel-efficient and low-emission.
- De-populate certain areas for ecosystem repair and recovery.
- Take agricultural area that is currently in use for exports out of use. Repurpose certain fields to fit the healthy food needs of the local population.
- Develop a foresting masterplan: no foresting in old-growth forest or other high-value areas; and for each tree cut, another forested area should be expanded.
- Gradually (!) abolish private ownership of lands. Lovians need to rethink the concept of land ownership.
- Abolish or seriously re-arrange the law of trusts and estates.
- Strive for total gender and sexuality equality.
- Reboot is not in favor of the illegalization of firearms. We do need a thorough public debate about their role in our new society.
- Limit the powers of organized religion in favor of personal and communal spirituality. Religious institutions that act as malevolent corporations have no place in a radically free society. People should, however, always be free to have their own beliefs and convictions.
- Abolish usage of unsound herbicides, pesticides, and GMOs. All agriculture ought to be "organic".
- All trade should be fair trade. Unfair trade has no place in a free society.
