The Republican Alternative.

Nick Rodinsky.
The Republican Alternative, abbreviated R.A., was a radical Lovian republican party, with seats in the Congress from the 2004 to the 2007 Congress. They emerged after the creation of the Congress in 2003. The R.A. opposed the monarchy and wished to abolish it together with "all other non-democratic institutions". In terms of the economy, the party was regarded as social-democratic. Nick Rodinsky led the party from 2003 until its disbandment in 2008.
It played a crucial role in demanding a popular referendum concerning the continuation of the monarchy in mid-2007, together with the NLP, the LDP, and the Oceana Christians. Their attempt was opposed by the King's Party and Freedom First, and thus failed. After King Dimitri I of Lovia ascended to the throne in November 2007, the Republican Alternative declared that it would boycott the 2008 elections in opposition to the ascension of Dimitri I, and its MOTCs at the time boycotted the remainder of the term. However, many party members opposed this and left the party. Due to the loss of membership, it was dissolved in early 2008.
