Sawyer Jane (born in 1978) is a Libertan-Lovian country and folk artist, better known under his stage name Sawyer Hillbilly. He debuted in 2010 in his home country with the alternative folk album Sound Like A Hillbilly. It was released by Red Horse Records, in which Hillbilly has a share. He made his entrance in Lovia with the release of "Here Come The Blues" in October 2010. In December, he announced his candidacy in the 2011 Federal Elections on a Liberal Arts Party ballot. In January, though, he withdrew from the race and endorsed Galahad as his candidate of choice.
Biography[]
Sawyer Jane was born in 1978 in an American family in Libertas. He has three younger sisters. His parents named him after Mark Twain's literary hero Tom Sawyer.
Jane has worked full-time at a vineyard until 2009. By then, he already had years of experience playing the guitar, but never professionalized his hobby. Since 2006, he has been associated with the collective behind Red Horse Records. In 2009, he began writing his debut album, under his stage name Sawyer Hillbilly. In October 2010, the album Sound Like A Hillbilly was released in Libertas, and sold well. The first single off the album, "Here Come The Blues" was released in both Libertas and Lovia, marking the label's first move into the international music scene. As the release of the single proved profitable, Red Horse announced it was willing to release the album in Lovia too.
Politics[]
In December 2010, he announced his candidacy in the 2011 Federal Elections on a Liberal Arts Party ballot. He withdrew on January 7th, endorsing Percival E. Galahad, the party's leader and PM candidate.
Hillbilly is a member of the civic platform Bluesky Thinking.
