Southern Wine Region (Oceana: Soutni Weenke) is one of the rural districts of the state of Oceana. Its capital is Righow. Other settlements are Bytack, Topolcane, and Vrabelvrutke. The district has a total population of 1,139 inhabitants.

Demographics[]

According to the 2014 census, the racial make-up of the Southern Wine Region was 1,139 white (100%); ethnically there were 889 Oceana (78,1%), 111 Lovians (9,7%), 99 Slovaks (8,7%), 17 Limburgish people (1,5%), 9 Romanians (0,8%), 6 Russians (0,5%), 4 Dutch people (0,4%), 2 Poles (0,2%), and 2 others (0,2%). The first-language distribution was recorded as 821 English (72,1%), 242 Oceana (21,2%), 48 Slovak (4,2%), 11 Limburgish (1%), 9 Romanian (0,8%), 6 Russian (0,5%), and 2 other (0,2%). The distribution of religious affiliations was 890 Roman Catholic (78,1%), 15 United Protestant (1,3%), 9 Romanian Orthodox Christian (0,8%), 6 other Orthodox-Christian (0,5%), 4 Dutch Protestant (0,4%), 4 Evangelic-Christian (0,4%), 2 other (0,2%), and 209 with no religious affiliation (18,3%).

Economy[]

According to the 2013 census, the working population is 653 (61,5%), of which 217 have no registrated jobs (33,2%) and 23 are unemployed (3,5%).
