The bridge under construction
The Span is a bridge in Clymene, connecting Truth Island to Asian Island.
History[]
The bridge was originally proposed in the late 1970s. Previous to that, the only transportation was by boat. Plans were made, but it was deemed to costly and the project was scrapped in 1982. In the 1990s, the need for a bridge intensified. New plans were made and construction began in 1997. After many delays, the bridge finally opened in 2005.
Since 2010 The Span added on a lower section for trains to go over to Adoha with the Clymene Central Railway.
In 2011 in the founding of the Labour Party union workers wanted the party's logo to be modeled after The Span, which was heavily built by trade union workers. The logo was modeled after the bridge and since the bridge's red and blue tint, it was reflected in the logo as well.
