Valentin Avramescu (born 24th August 1986, Christianenburg, Adlibita) is an Adlibitan-Lovian politician and the current leader of the Romanian Minority Party.
Avramescu grew up in Adlibita. He graduated from high school with excellent marks, but he felt too disillusioned with Adlibita to study there, so in mid-2004 he moved to Lovia. He studied a conjoint degree in law and physics at the Nobel University. During this time he also became involved with local politics, and was disappointed at the lack of recognition/representation for the Adlibitan/Romanian culture in Lovia. In mid-2008, Avramescu graduated and began a graduate degree at the Blackburn University, Noble City.
In late 2011, Avramescu joined the Romanian Minority Party, soon after it was founded. However, he clashed often with the existing leadership of Daniel Latin, as Avramescu had a rather more progressive political ideology; this prevented his ascension within the party at the time. However, by late 2014, the economic depression, high unemployment rates and political inactivity in Adlibita had led to increased Adlibitan immigration into Lovia, with many of these new immigrants being young and progressive/leftist. These new immigrants disagreed with the conservative leadership of Daniel Latin, and instead supported the progressive Avramescu. In early 2015, it was agreed that if the RMP failed to gain any seats in the Federal Elections, 2015, there would be a party leadership election.
The RMP gained 0 seats in the 2015 Congress, so a leadership election was held soon after the federal elections. In the Romanian Minority Party leadership election, 2015, Avramescu gained a majority of votes and replaced Latin as leader of the Romanian Minority Party.
